Migration Health Physician
Responsibilities:
- Conduct health assessments of the refugees and migrants, including review of the medical history, physical examination, rereading of the Chest X-rays (CXR) and review of the test results, in accordance with the technical guidelines of the resettlement countries
- Ensure proper identification of the migrants during physical examination
- Record all relevant health data in standard forms and ensure completeness and accuracy of the recorded information
- Liaise with the radiologist and laboratory staff regarding results of the respective tests
- Make referrals for additional testing and treatment, if necessary
- Support the CMHP in the management of the various aspects of the Health Assessment Programmes including organization of workflow, supervision of the junior staff, liaising with external partners and service providers, medical procurement
- Perform treatment of tuberculosis, sexually transmitted infections and provide support to the HIV/AIDS counselling activities
- Take part in the surveillance system through notification of the stakeholders about communicable diseases identified during health assessments
- In coordination with the CMHP, liaise with the health authorities in the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), DIAC and CIC
- Ensure that all relevant data related to the heath assessment programme are entered to MiMOSA and other related databases
- Participate in data analysis related to the health assessment programme for presentation and program planning
Desirable Qualifications:
- Degree in Medicine
- Valid licence to practice medicine in Malaysia
- 5 years’ experience in clinical medicine (internal medicine, surgery or paediatrics) with knowledge of English medical terminology
- Thorough knowledge of communicable diseases
- Post graduate training and/or working experience in any of the following domains: public health. communicable diseases, topical medicine or chest diseases is a distinctive advantage
- Knowledge of the Malaysian health system
- Knowledge and experience in the area is an asset
- Demonstrated awareness of gender issues

Migration Health Nurse (3 positions)
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Nurse in organizing activities related to migration medical assessment
- Obtain blood, urine, sputum and other specimens for laboratory testing
- Perform rapid laboratory tests, including but not limited to dipstick urinalysis, pregnancy tests, glucometry, rapid malaria tests and other tests as necessary
- Administer and read tuberculin skin test, vaccinations as well as treatment for tuberculosis, syphilis, malaria, intestinal parasites and others as may be requested by the Chief Migration Health Physician (CMHN) and Chief Migration Health Nurse (CMHN)
- Manage and report adverse effects, maintain relevant records
- Assist Migration Health Physicians (MHPs) in medical examination, inducing collecting medical history, checking vital signs, weight, height and visual acuity
- Perform identification of the migrants coming for health assessments
- Assist in management of medical documents and filing process
- Provide HIV pre-counselling before medical screening and post-counselling if needed
- Provide TB education to the TB patients and family members
- Monitor and implement fellow up procedures for the medical hold cases
- Assist the Chief Nurse to control inventory and supply of medications, vaccines and others
- Participate in the surveillance, and liaise with internal and external partners
Desirable Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Valid licence to practice medicine (nursing) in Malaysia
- At least 3 years’ experience in clinical practice with excellent technical skills, including phlebotomy
- Compassionate attitude to the patients with good bedside
manners
- Additional training or working experience in the areas of
tuberculosis management, mass immunizations, communicable diseases, laboratory testing or public health will be an advantage
- Knowledge of the local conditions and understanding of refugees’ needs would be appropriate

Medical Processing Assistant
(3 positions)
Responsibilities:
- Schedule refugees for medical examination using Medical MIMOSA Import Format, other sources of data and supervise a process of calling refugees
- Prepare master list of scheduled cases and distribute to concerned MHD staff
- Regularly update pipeline and staff table and submit to MHD managers
- Prepare medical documents for medical screening of refugees for different resettlement countries
- Schedule refugees list for pre-departure medical screening and supervise a process of calling refugees
- Schedule refugees departing from Kuala Lumpur for pre-embarkation check
- Conduct quality control of MEDIFs
- Serve as an MHD focal point for airlines/operations (OPS) queries
- Retrieve and collate travel requirements from MiMOSA for OPS according to the name list of a profight
- Provide medical records of cases requiring medical escort for hand over to the medical escorts
- Prepare mail out lists and perform mail out for USRAP/non-USRAP cases
- Maintain weekly pipeline statistics related to health
assessments, pre-departure medical screening and pre-embarkation check and update the records in MiMOSA
- Prepare medical hold report every 2 weeks and submit to concerned MHD and RSC staff
- Prepare Medical MIMOSA Import Format reconciliation for RSC staff
- Register non-USRP cases in MiMOSA
- Assist nurses in collecting medical documents and filing system
- Photocopy and scan medical documents
- Interpret from Bahasa Malaysia to English and vice versa
Desirable Qualifications:
- At least a secondary school diploma. Bachelor’s Degree in Social or Computer Sciences will be an advantage
- Advanced computer skills in Excel
- At least 2 years’ working experience related to in-depth use of MS Office applications data collection and manipulation. Clerking experience is an advantage
- Attention to detail. persistence and ability to organize paperwork in a methodical way

Project Assistant, Technical Cooperation Unit
Responsibilities:
- Support the implementation of the organization’s Immigration & Border Management project activities
- Liaise and build strong corking relationship with stakeholder, partners, including Malaysian government officials
- Organize meeting, training and workshops
- Assist the Project Coordinator in monitoring the project timeline, resource scheduling and risk management
- Draft periodic reports on the project
- Support Technical Cooperation Unit’s cross functional roles
Desirable Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Social Sciences, Political Science, International Relations or a related field
- Minimum 5 years’ working experience in related functions
- Experience working with government and/or understanding of the government structures and practices
- Excellent communication, analytical and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated skills in organizing meetings, workshops and conferences
- Experience and understanding on migration issues, especially people smuggling, human trafficking and border control issues
- Experience in interviewing/dealing with vulnerable individuals will be an advantage
- Personal commitment, efficiency, flexibility, self-motivation. creative thinking

Requirements for all the positions:
- Good command of English and Bahasa Malaysia
- Knowledge of MS Office applications
- Able to work harmoniously in a multicultural setting
- Pro-active, result- oriented, organized and possess good communication skills and the ability to work under pressure
- Experience Working with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/ organizations with a multi-cultural setting is an advantage
- Good team player with the capacity to work independently; sensitive to cultural and social issues
