Cabot (Malaysia) Sdn. Bhd., a subsidiary of Cabot Corporation, USA, has been serving the carbon black needs of tyre, industrial rubber manufacturers and special applications in the Malaysian and Asia-Pacific markets since 1977.
Our Port Dickson facility is looking for result-orientated individuals to join us and help drive continuous improvements through process operability and business systems. Applications are invited from suitably qualified applicants for the following positions.

Plant Engineer
The Job:
- Provide technical support and drive continuous improvement in manufacturing process capability, capacity and productivity at the site(s) to ensure safe and optimal process utilization as well as implement capital and expenses projects within scope, cost, time and safety standards
- Identify, recommend and implement improvements in plant performance to optimize product volume, yields and quality in accordance with business needs; gather and evaluate appropriate data, utilizing statistical techniques, to improve process capability and/or identify root causes of problems, and implement improvement opportunities
- Provide technical advice and support to resolve unusual problems using root cause analysis
- Develop plant-wide Standard Operating Procedures for process and equipment operation
- Provide training as required to manufacturing personnel in relevant manufacturing processes
- Work with Quality personnel on various projects
- Manage external contractors in accordance with all site regulations and standards
- Support and implement new product and process runs and prepare relevant documentation; develop and implement equipment, procedure and process changes including design and implementation of improvement projects, and participation in Hazard Operability Studies
- Assist in the design, procurement and installation of new equipment
- Ensure all product and process changes are implemented in line with appropriate Management of Change principles
- Communicate regularly with regional and global counterparts to facilitate continuous improvement and ongoing organizational learning
- Implement Predictive Maintenance Programs to monitor and record the condition of the plant and equipment to maximize plant safety and reliability and reduce downtime.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in a relevant Engineering discipline
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in an appropriate manufacturing environment with knowledge of chemical manufacturing, environmental awareness, Failure Mode Experimental Causal Analysis (FMECA), ISO awareness/compliance, process safety management, behavioural based safety as well as confined space entry, lockout/tagout, hotwork permitting, etc.
- Ability to gather, analyse and draw well-reasoned conclusions
- Ability and knowledge of equipment calibration/maintenance, plant condition monitoring
- Experience managing project plans, milestones, tasks with technical knowledge of process and product technology

Project Engineer
The Job:
- Responsible for providing Chemical Engineering expertise for Capital Project work and retrofit projects as well as providing plant with chemical engineering expertise
- Participate in conceptual engineering (opportunity and alternative analysis) project phase, reporting to Project Engineer, by providing technical consultation on chemical related issues
- Responsible for technical consultation for chemical related issues, standards and codes, single line diagram, motor list, scope of work and deliverables for chemical discipline
- Ensure that Cabot’s chemical standards (written or unwritten) are followed and provide Project Engineer with technical review support
- During detail design, provide technical review support for contract services
- Provide equipment troubleshooting during startup and operation
- Maybe required to execute all facets of a project, including project management of projects that have mainly chemical components.

Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical/ Mechanical/ Electrical/ Control/ Instrumentation Engineering
- Minimum 5 – 10 years’ project execution experience
- Self-starter with excellent management, organizational, computer and plant troubleshooting skills
- Excellent verbal & written communication and presentation skills are a must
- Able to work on project teams with multiple disciplines and multiple departments.
