ConocoPhillips Malaysian assets include interests in the Kebabangan Petroleum Operating Company operated KBB gas fold, Shell operated Gumusut-Kakap and Malikai oil fields, and Murphy operated Siakap North-Petai oil field, all located offshore Sabah.
In line with its growth and expansion in Malaysia, ConocoPhillips is seeking a suitably qualified professional to join its team as:

COMMERCIAL NEGOTIATOR
(Job Location: Kuala Lumpur)
The Job:
- Represent the Company in commercial meetings as well as oversee commercial activities and the negotiations of agreements required for the commercialization of a number of oil, gas and condensate fields offshore Sabah. Agreements expected in the near term include: Gas Sales Agreements, Transportation and Processing Agreements, Oil & Condensate Quality Bank and Lifting Agreements and Oil Facilities Operating Agreements
- Monitor progress of border dispute resolutions between Malaysia and Indonesia as it relates to ConocoPhillips’ acreage positions
- Proactively support the business unit’s growth aspirations, identify opportunities, lead negotiations on Farm-in Agreements, JOA’s and PSC’s, if and when appropriate
- Contribute to building annual long range plan for ConocoPhillips Malaysia and Field/Area Development Plans
- Provide effective commercial support and develop/manage strong working relationships with Petronas, Carigali, Shell, Murphy and other IOC’s to serve ConocoPhillips’ needs throughout Malaysia
- Develop effective relationships with the other functions in the Malaysia business unit (geoscience, projects, finance and legal), and the business functions in Houston.

Requirements:
- Degree in Finance, Engineering or Geoscience
- Minimum 10 years’ experience in an oil & gas E&P company, including relevant experience within commercial and business development
- Good understanding of E&P contracts (PSC, JOA, UUOA, GSA, TPA, etc.)
- Prior experience drafting, negotiating, and implementing commercial agreements relating to gas sales, facilities sharing, transportation and processing
- Fundamental understanding and experience with economic analysis, PSC cost and profit sharing terms and related taxes
- High safety, environmental and ethical standards
- Strong written English and effective oral communication skills
- Creative, energetic, self starter and a committed team player with good organizational and planning skills.
